Parker’s girls hockey
experience, while not necessarily as extensive as
her classmates, is nonetheless very distinguished.
She played 4 years of boys youth hockey within
Columbus’s CAHA (Capital Amateur Hockey Association)
organization. After checking with the boys, Parker
finished youth hockey with a year in Columbus’s new
women’s program, the Columbus Sting. Parker played
U19 with the Sting. After only one season of girls
play, Parker too made the MidAm Chicago Showcase
team and competed this past spring.

As aforementioned,
Parker’s athletic prowess was not limited to the ice
rink. While attending Big Walnut High School in
Sunbury, OH, Parker earned seven varsity letters –
four in track and three in soccer – an astounding
nine Ohio Capital Conference track titles, and
multiple District and Regional state track meet
qualifications. As a senior in soccer, she led the
Big Walnut soccer squad in scoring and was offensive
MVP her senior year.
Academically, Parker
was a four-time recipient of the Big Walnut Scholar
Athlete award for academic and athletic excellence.
Additionally, Parker earned central Ohio honors with
the ’02 Archie Griffin Sportsmanship award, the ’06
Agonis Club Scholar Athlete award, and the ’06 Will
To Win award.
Personal
Parker’s family
recently moved to Westerville,
another Columbus suburb. Her
father, Klaus Parker, is a retired
Columbus fireman and currently owns
and operates a hockey store on the
city’s northeast side.
