Amanda "Thunder" Damrath came to the Buckeyes from that state up north with a terrific hockey resume, playing the sport for 13 years, first for the Michigan Icebreakers and then for the Ohio Flames for the 2007-2008 season. During her time with the Icebreakers, Thunder was a member of the 2006 team that won the Michigan State Championship, as well as a part of the Ohio Flames team that became District Champions in 2008.
At Novi High School, Damrath was a four year letterman in Track, as well as being the captain for two years and winning the 3 year All Conference Academic Award. She also attended a year of college at Kent State University before transferring to Ohio State for the 2008-2009 school year.
Personal
Amanda's parents are John and Tammy, and she has two siblings (John, age 15 and Rachel, age 13) that also play hockey.
Fun Fact
Damrath is a die-hard fan of the Red Wings.
2008-09 Season
Thunder finished the season with 10 goals and 4 assists and earned the title of team leading scorer for her first year with the team.
