 Knutson hails from Huntsville, AL and has spent the last 4 years as a varsity goalie for the Sparkman High School boys' varsity team. In addition to playing for Sparkman Varsity she played for Sparkman JV, winning the Alabama JV championship in 2004. She also made a 3.5 hour (one way!) commute to Atlanta, GA to skate and play with the U-19 Atlanta Fire hockey team.
Outside of hockey, Knutson is an excellent student. Knutson graduated in the top 15% of her high school’s graduating class.
2005-06 Season
 Knutson started her first series as a Buckeye on the road against Michigan. She faced 32 shots, stopping 30 in a 2-1 loss. In her second game she recorded a shutout (37 shots) on her way to helping the Buckeyes win the 2nd annual Michigan rivalry game; “The Game for the Puck.” She was awarded the CCWHA Player of the Week for games played between September 30 and Oct. 9, 2005.
Personal
Her parents are Bruce and Michele Knutson, her younger brother is named Andrew.
