Kate Nushart has been playing ice hockey for eight years. She was Academic Player of the year at Wauwatosa West. Nushart spends her off season as a hockey instructor in Wisconsin.
Nushart's cheering section can be heard at every game shouting "KATE KATE KATE", when she comes on the ice for her shift.
2004-05 Season Nushart is the club's president and was the team's alternate captain for the 2004/2005 season. She also was the co-recipient of the Buckeye Award for the same season
Nushart went 2-6-8 with 4 penalty minutes and 25 shots on goal in 25 games for the 2004/2005 season. She scored her first goal of the year against Notre Dame on Sunday December 5. She also registered a power play goal and an assist during the Buckeyes upset victory over Northern Michigan in the 2005 CCWHA Tournament.

Nushart has a sister, Annie and is the oldest to Nancy and Scott.
